CRUDE OIL STABILIZATION AND RECOVERY
Conventional remedies to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s Quad O regulations do nothing to stabilize volatile crude oil from new shale plays. A vapor recovery unit is one solution to comply with Quad O regulations, but valuable liquids are lost. Further, the vapor recovery unit does nothing to stabilize the crude oil. The Crude Oil Stabilization and Recovery (COSR) process provides compliance with the Quad O regulation while simultaneously solving the crude oil volatility problem. COSR allows oil to be transported from cold climates to warm climates without fear of the truck or railcar becoming over-pressurized. Finally, emissions and volatility problems are solved while providing a large financial benefit to the producer.
